Bamboo water channels at Hase temple, Kamakura

Bamboo water channels at Hase Temple in Kamakura

There's something very zen about this. Simple yet beautiful.

Oh yeah, and Suby, I'm ready for your challenge, bring it on! I'm ready to take things to the next level.

Okay here is my challenge to you.

Look through your archives at the shots you have taken over the last month. Now visit and look through his archives.

Now what I want you to do is of all the shots he has in his archives, find 5 pictures you feel you can recreate or capture a similar themed image.

Then post up from next week Monday.

Why do I post this challenge to you. You I feel have paid you penance and are ready to move up to the next level. I need to see your images more well rounded, Lighting -CHECK.
Composition - CHECK
Theme - CHECK
Able to convey a message or emotion - CHECK
Obeying the fundamental basics of photography i.e rule of 3rds etc, -CHECK

This is not an excercise in how good your camera or how good your photoshoping skills are. It's more about yout thinking of the end result of the image.

Try not to stick to only 1 theme I.e flowers or buildings.

I'll be wqatching and waiting.

Suby :)

If you somehow got a slower suhtter speed on this one would be nice, would show a nicer flow, and follow subys advice like hes a god btw, he really helps.

Looking forward to what you come up with. The composition of today's photo is good, but it seems to have a lot of noise. I'm not sure if that is a result of too much sharpening or a really high ISO level.

Hello Stardog!
This is an incredible picture. I would like to use it in a scientific presentation in vascular surgery. Could you do me a favour and send me a higher resolution copy? My email-address is:

Thank you very much in advance.
